The Buckeyes offered a scholarship to the son of the NFL legend.

Ohio State spent part of its Wednesday offering a scholarship to the son of one of the best running backs in NFL history.

Emmitt "E.J." Smith, the son of the former star Dallas Cowboys running back, received a scholarship offer from the Buckeyes.

He's a class of 2020 product and, like his dad, he's a running back. Ohio State is his first Big Ten offer.

Smith announced the news on Twitter.

Smith, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound all-purpose back, isn't ranked yet by any of the major recruiting sites, but it won't be surprising if he ends up being a top 2020 product.

His dad, of course, played collegiately at Florida, and E.J. currently holds scholarship offers from Georgia, Jackson State, Kentucky and SMU, too.
