Is Ohio State Now Safely In The College Football Playoff Field?

Ohio State's fans rushed the field after the Michigan win.

Ohio State knocked off Michigan in dramatic fashion on Saturday, which means that the Buckeyes, for now, should safely be in the College Football Playoff top four when the rankings are unveiled Tuesday.

Why do we say 'for now'? Because Ohio State could have one more game. Ironically, Buckeyes fans aren't really sure whether they want to win the Big Ten East anymore.

Ohio State, which is now 8-1 in the Big Ten East, currently owns the No. 2 ranking in the College Football Playoff rankings. But a win by Penn State over Michigan State means that the division goes to the Nittany Lions - and the Buckeyes wouldn't even play for a Big Ten title. Ohio State, therefore, wouldn't have a chance of losing another game.

So would Ohio State and its fans/players rather have a shot at the Big Ten title against Wisconsin or just head right to the College Football Playoff? It's rather debatable.

Whatever happens - it's looking like the Big Ten is going to get at least one team into the Playoff this year. It could even get two.
