Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer has been on paid administrative leave for about a week, but the Buckeyes' head coach is expected to learn his fate in Columbus at some point in the near future.

The school announced on Sunday night that the investigation into Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes' program regarding the handling of allegations against now-fired assistant coach Zach Smith is expected to take about two weeks.

We could learn Meyer's fate at Ohio State at some point next week, it seems.

One Ohio State insider shared a major update on what he's hearing regarding the investigation and Meyer's future earlier this week.

Jeff Snook, who's written multiple books on Ohio State's football program, says he would not be surprised if Meyer is back on the sideline by Week 1.

"There is so much more to this story, so much that I think the public will be shocked when it is all revealed," Snook wrote.

Snook also said he would not be surprised to see Urban Meyer on the sideline Week 1. The Buckeyes open the season against Oregon State.

"And the bottom line is this: Don't be surprised if Urban Meyer is on the sidelines September 1 in the opener against Oregon State."
