Ohio State's Interim Coach Asked If Tate Martell Could Win Starting QB Job

Ohio State's football team has its starting quarterback. Dwayne Haskins was named the Buckeyes' starter by Urban Meyer earlier this offseason.

OSU affirmed this decision earlier this week when it released its Week 1 depth chart. Haskins is QB1.

There's a plan for backup quarterback Tate Martell to play, though.

Today, interim coach Ryan Day was asked if the quarterback situation was fluid to the point where Martell could supplant Haskins.

Day said that Haskins is the starter, but Martell will play.

Martell is one of the most-hyped recruits Ohio State has had in recent years. There are plenty of fans excited to finally watch him play this fall.

But Ohio State has made it clear that Haskins is the starter.

OSU opens its season on Saturday against Oregon State.
