Oklahoma Dazzled In Its Tune-Up For The Ohio State Game

The Sooners' looked good today.

It looks like Columbus is going to host one heck of a college football game a week from tonight.

A couple of days after No. 2 Ohio State got past Indiana, No. 7 Oklahoma throttled UTEP, 56-7.

It's tough to full judge the Sooners' performance since it came against such an inferior opponent, but star quarterback Baker Mayfield played like a Heisman Trophy frontrunner.

Mayfield, who sat for half of the game, completed 19 of 20 passes for 329 yards and three touchdowns.

Mayfield's backup, Kyler Murray, completed 10 of 11 passes for 1 touchdown.

As a team, the Sooners totaled 496 passing yards and 180 more on the ground.

After watching Ohio State's secondary struggle to contain Indiana's pass attack on Thursday night, the Sooners' offense should be licking its chops heading into next weekend.

OSU and Oklahoma are set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. E.T. on ABC next Saturday. ESPN's College GameDay is expected to be there for the game.
