One of the top defensive end recruits in college football has announced his college decision. It's not surprising, but still significant.

Marcus Hicks, a four-star defensive end out of Wichita, Ks., announced on Twitter this morning that he's committed to Oklahoma.

Michigan and Oklahoma were seen as the two favorites, with Oklahoma claiming the late edge. According to his father, Hicks was split between the Wolverines and Sooners.

He's going to be a Sooner, though.

Hicks announced the news on Twitter.

"At this time I would like to announce my commitment to the University of Oklahoma" he wrote.

This is a big pickup for Oklahoma. Hicks is ranked the No. 314 overall recruit by 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

The Sooners' class is ranked No. 2 in the country.
