The 2019 college football season sits just nine days away. Florida and Miami get the season started on August 24 with a battle for state supremacy.
While the Gators and Hurricanes give us out first glimpse of football since the Alabama-Clemson title game, we don’t expect they’ll be vying for a national title.
One team that is in position for a run at the title is the Oklahoma Sooners. After landing Jalen Hurts via transfer, the Sooners are poised for dominance in the Big 12.
It turns out, Oklahoma is a fan-favorite as well.
USA Today released a list ranking the most-likable team in the Coaches Poll.
The Sooners sit at the very top. A lot of the love revolves around the Alabama transfer quarterback who’s trying to become the third-straight Heisman winner for Lincoln Riley:
The Sooners, once again, have a transfer quarterback, and he’s a player you want to see play well and carry the team the way Kyler Murray and Baker Mayfield did. Jalen Hurts left Alabama when the 2018 season ended and went to Norman as a grad transfer. And after losing the starting job to Tua Tagovailoa, his departure is understandable, especially after he stuck around for a full season with limited playing time. He’s just a good dude who’s getting another chance to prove himself as a starter. Join us in being pumped to see what he can do.
The full reason to root for the Sooners can be found here, along with the rest of the list.
One Saturday remains without college football and then we’re home free.
