Oklahoma Over Ohio State Was Probably The Committee's Biggest Debate

ESPN breaks down latest Playoff rankings.

The CFP Selection Committee Chair Kirby Hocutt said there was a passionate debate over the two teams.

The College Football Playoff Selection Committee's chair, Kirby Hocutt, said there was a "passionate debate" over teams No. 3 to No. 7 in last night's initial top 25 ranking.

Specifically, ranking Oklahoma over Ohio State was potentially the biggest debate, considering the Buckeyes are ranked much higher than the Sooners in the AP Poll and Coaches' Poll.

"We don't look at the other polls," Hocutt said. "Ohio State had a great win last weekend...they've played really well since their loss to Oklahoma. But at this point in the season, that head-to-head matchup is important to the selection committee and will continue to be important to the selection committee."

Both Ohio State and Oklahoma could win out, finish 12-1 and win their respective conferences.

Would both teams make it in if that happens? Only one?

We can't wait to find out.
