One NFL general manager is reportedly on the hot seat after the first round of the 2019 NFL draft - and it's not New York Giants general manager Dave Gettleman.

Despite "reaching" for Daniel Jones at No. 6 overall, Gettleman appears to be safe for now.

His counterpart in East Rutherford might not be so lucky. According to multiple reports, New York Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan is on the "hot seat" after just the first round of the draft.

New York selected Alabama star Quinnen Williams with the No. 3 overall pick. Heading into the draft, Williams was seen as one of, if not the, best players in the class.

So why is Maccagnan on the hot seat?

Well, according to a report from Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline, a "big rift" exists between Maccagnan and new head coach Adam Gase.

"The complaint about Mike Maccagnan that I've learned from insiders is he can't make a decision," Pauline said. "And Adam Gase is just the opposite -- he's an 'A-type' personality who's used to being in control and used to making decisions.

I'm told that they were on completely different paths."

It's a bad sign of the times when Maccagnan drafts arguably the best player in the class and is on the hot seat as a result of moves he made prior to the draft.

Round 2 and 3 of the NFL draft rolls on Friday night.

Stay tuned for the latest.
