Florida vs. Iowa preview:

It's not the greatest Outback Bowl tandem ever, but it's also not the worst.

Florida brought solid 8-2 record into the final two weeks of the season after a huge win over LSU. Unfortunately for the Gators, they ran into Florida State in a clash of Florida-based teams and then had to face Alabama in the SEC Championship Game. The Gators were blown out in both of those games, and now faces a solid Iowa team.

Iowa, at 5-4 on the season and having had its doors blown off by Penn State, the Hawkeyes could very easily have finished the season with a 6-6 record. However, Iowa beat Michigan on a last-second field goal and crushed both Illinois and Nebraska to finished the season with an 8-4 mark.

The Gators and Hawkeyes Lions have played three times in history, with the Gators holding a slight 2-1 advantage. Florida won the last game played between the two teams in 2006.

Florida vs. Iowa prediction:

Florida and Iowa field two of the worst offenses in college football, but also two of the best defenses. Do you know what that means?

Not very many points will be scored.

This may not be the sexiest matchup in bowl history, but there will be plenty of defense to watch.
