Paul Finebaum Outlines How Much Money It Could Take To Hire Tom Herman

Tom Herman is going to get paid.

Houston head coach Tom Herman is likely the hottest coach on the market, with LSU, Oregon and Texas all likely to pursue him in the coming weeks/months.

Herman has a pretty nice setup at Houston, so it's going to take a lot of money to hire him. How much, exactly?

ESPN's Paul Finebaum thinks it could take $8/million-plus a season.

"The university of Texas can pony up a lot of money, but they may not be the only ones, this could go eight or nine million (a season), (Nick) Saban money," Finebaum said during College Football Live on Tuesday. "Whatever Herman’s agent wants, he can get. Houston has no shot. Houston is not in the Big 12. There’s no reason for Herman to stay at Houston, you’re always going to be the outside man looking in."

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh was the highest-paid coach in the country this season, making just north of $9 million/season.
