Paul Finebaum Sets Clear Expectations For Nick Saban On 'College GameDay'

Nick Saban will have a new role in the college football landscape for this season and going forward.

Instead of being on the sideline coaching Alabama every Saturday, he'll be an analyst on ESPN's College GameDay throughout the fall. He'll help preview the top matchups each week alongside Rece Davis, Desmond Howard, Lee Corso, Pat McAfee, and Kirk Herbstreit

A lot of fans are excited to see how Saban does as an analyst and ESPN's Paul Finebaum is right there with them. In fact, he thinks Saban will do a great job.

“He will be the most prepared person on that GameDay set, and he will be clearly the most knowledgeable,” Finebaum said, (first transcribed by Awful Announcing). “I think really the issue will be if everyone else can be themselves. I could not be myself. I’m rarely intimidated, but he scared me to death.”

Saban has some experience as an analyst already as he's gotten to do some things during SEC Media Days and has appeared on GameDay numerous times as a guest.

He'll now get to do it on a full-time basis after retiring from coaching this past season.

Saban will make his College GameDay debut next Saturday.
