The SEC insider thinks the talks of Miles to Ole Miss are ridiculous.
Les Miles to Ole Miss has been a popular coaching rumor over the last 24 hours or so. Multiple reporters said that the former LSU coach would likely have interest in the position. Then, USA TODAY's Dan Wolken reported that Miles is "extremely interested" in the gig.
Paul Finebaum isn't buying it, though.
The SEC expert thinks there's no chance the Rebels hire the 63-year-old coach.
"He's not getting the Ole Miss job," Finebaum said on 94.5 FM WJOX, per 247Sports. "I find that to be one of the most ridiculous statements that I’ve ever seen that somebody is actually taking seriously.”
Finebaum says that Miles has had interest in every job that's become available since he got fired last year. He's not getting them, though.
"Ole Miss was pretty clear the other day - they have an interim coach for the season," Finebaum said. "Les Miles can stand on the tallest building in Baton Rouge or high tail it over to Mt. Everest so everybody can see him, but what difference does it makes? He could not get a job at the end of last season. He's not getting the Ole Miss job.
"Les has wanted every job that's become available since October of last year."
Miles in Oxford would've been fun to watch, but apparently it's not going to happen.
