Paul Finebaum Was Not Impressed By Jalen Hurts

The ESPN college football expert thought the Crimson Tide's quarterback play was underwhelming.

If you wanted to point to a weakness within Alabama's dominance after the Week 1 win vs. No. 3 Florida State, you'd probably look at the quarterback position.

That's what ESPN college football analyst Paul Finebaum would do, anyway.

Finebaum says he was not impressed with the play of Crimson Tide second-year starter Jalen Hurts.

"I was underwhelmed," Finebaum said on ESPN this morning, per 247Sports. "I didn't see a lot of progression from last year to this year. For those of us who kept saying 'he's going to get better cause Brian Daboll showed up from the New England Patriots,' I didn't see any of that last night."

Hurts completed 10 of 18 passes for 96 yards and 1 touchdown, rushing for 55 yards on 15 carries.

The sophomore certainly struggled in the passing game, but he likely won't face a tougher defense the rest of the season.
