Penn State vs. Rutgers preview:
Penn State (8-2) enters the contest on a six-game winning streak with its most recent win coming last weekend at Indiana, 45-31. Rutgers (2-8) has lost seven straight games after falling to Michigan State last weekend 49-0.
The Scarlet Knights were throttle by Michigan State this past Saturday putting up just 149 yards of total offense. Michigan State was able to rush for 277 yards and throw for another 163 yards on the way to its shutout win over Rutgers. Rutgers had just 40 yards passing on the day.
Penn State trailed Indiana heading into the fourth quarter last week but out scored the Hoosiers 24-7 in the fourth to secure the comeback win. Trace McSorley threw for 332 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the win. Saquon Barkley had just 58 yards rushing on 33 attempts but scored two touchdowns as well.
Penn State knocked off Rutgers last year by a score of 28-3 at home.
Penn State vs. Rutgers Prediction:
Simply put, Penn State is rolling and Rutgers is standing still. Rutgers' offense may be the worst in the nation while Penn State has a pretty strong two-headed monster in Barkley and McSorley.
Rutgers' 94th ranked defense that allows 445 yards per game will have a long day against Penn State.
