Oklahoma dipped into the junior college ranks today to secure a commitment from a highly-rated defensive tackle.

Iowa Western Community College defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey announced his commitment to the Sooners moments ago. Winfrey chose OU over Florida State, Nebraska, Oregon, Penn State, LSU and Texas.

Winfrey is the No. 1 defensive tackle and the No. 5 overall prospect in the country, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings for junior college prospects.

Previously, he was a three-star prospect coming out of Roselle (Ill.) Lake Park High School in 2018.

With Winfrey now in the fold, Oklahoma holds 11 verbal commitments for 2020. Six of them are four-star prospects, with one five-star and four three-stars.

The Sooners currently have the top class in the Big 12 and the No. 11 class in the country.
