ESPN's College GameDay is a bit different this year due to the current pandemic. Although the show continues to move along, it just doesn't feel the same without fans in attendance.
Prior to the start of the 2020 season, ESPN announced that fans will only be allowed to virtually attend College GameDay on Saturdays. However, we're still seeing a handful of great signs on a weekly basis.
Earlier today, College GameDay shared a picture of a fan dressed up as Waldo with a sign that reads "Hey GameDay can you guys let me in? I'm locked out."
The fan posed outside of Beaver Stadium, where today's edition of College GameDay is being filmed to preview tonight's epic clash between Ohio State and Penn State.
This perfectly sums up how fans are feeling this season. It just feels like College GameDay isn't complete without fans in attendance.
Rece Davis recently talked about what fans mean to the show.
“I will never again take that anthem for granted, not that I ever had, we’ve always appreciated it,” Davis said. “And certainly none of us at College GameDay take for granted the fans and the passion for this sport. Fans will be a part of this show all season long, it will be different, it will be virtual and you can go to CollegeGameDay.com and enter for your chance to be part of the GameDay family.”
Saturday mornings will feel a bit different without fans, but we're certainly grateful to watch College GameDay in some capacity.
