This might have been the largest protest all day.
There were protests throughout the NFL today in response to President Donald Trump’s comments on Friday night, when he suggested that any players who protested during the national anthem are “sons of bitches” who “should be fired.”
There were a handful of players taking stands by kneeling or sitting during the first two weeks of the regular season, but the number exploded today following Trump’s statements.
Nearly the entire Oakland Raiders team sat on the bench before tonight’s game against the Washington Redskins. Some Washington players kneeled while others stood and linked arms.
