Texas had little trouble with Rice on Saturday night, as the Longhorns knocked off the Owls, 48-13, at NRG Stadium in Houston.
Tom Herman’s team rebounded nicely from last weekend’s tough home loss to LSU, improving to 2-1 on the season.
Rice’s band won the troll game, however.
The Owls’ band mocked Texas for its 2.89 GPA tweet that went viral earlier this summer.
The Rice band formed a 2.89 to honor Texas football’s highest team GPA in their history during the 2018-19 school year.

Texas infamously bragged about its 2.89 team GPA earlier this year. Rice’s band decided to spell out a big 2.89 on the field on Saturday night.

Well played, Rice.
