Photos/Video: FIU Helmet Was Ripped Off Of Don Shula Trophy After FAU Rivalry Game Win

FAU vs. FIU doesn't quite resonate nationally like, say, Florida-Florida State, but don't tell that to the Owls. FAU got revenge for last year's loss, winning today's "Shula Bowl" 31-17. After the win, the team charged across the field to claim the Don Shula Trophy.

The trophy features halves of each team's helmets on either side, and multiple people reportedly saw FAU players rip the FIU helmet off of the large award.

Luckily, the helmets are velcroed on, so whatever happened, no harm, no foul.

FAU doesn't seem too worried about it. The Owls were too busy turning up in the locker room after the game.
