Purdue Has Reportedly Hired Western Kentucky's Jeff Brohm

The Boilermakers have hired a football coach.

Purdue has reportedly hired Western Kentucky's Jeff Brohm, according to a report by Yahoo! Sports' Pat Forde.

Brohm, 45, has been WKU's head coach since 2014.

Pete Thamel of Sports Illustrated also confirmed the news.

Brohm, who played collegiately at Louisville and then in the NFL, has compiled a 30-10 record in three seasons at Western Kentucky, winning 12 games in 2015 and 10 this season. He's previously served as Western Kentucky's offensive coordinator, UAB's offensive coordinator and Illinois' quarterback coach, among other stints.

Purdue hasn't had a winning season since 2011. The Boilermakers went 1-11, 3-9 and 2-10 in three seasons under Darrell Hazell, who was fired earlier this year.

The West Lafayette, Ind. program has definitely been a bad one in recent seasons, but there's potential, especially in the Big Ten West. From 1997-2007, Purdue made a bowl game in every season but one.

An official announcement could come later today.
