Update: ESPN has made the news official. The network has released a statement on the changes, along with some quotes from both Davis and Fowler. You can check it all out here.
Earlier: College football fans – your Saturday morning routine is about to be slightly altered. Longtime College GameDay host Chris Fowler will be replaced by Rece Davis in 2015, according to James Andrew Miller. Fowler, who has been hosting the program since 1990, will remain on Saturday Night Football on ABC and continue to anchor ESPN’s tennis coverage. The move seems to be more about Davis, who the network will now be able to retain.
Come this fall, @ESPN_ReceDavis will replace @cbfowler on @CollegeGameDay @espn #CollegeGameday
