Report: 2 Ohio State Assistants In Play At Cincinnati

Two Ohio State football assistants are reportedly in play at Cincinnati.

The Cincinnati football head coaching job is open and a couple of Ohio State assistants are reportedly in contention to fill the vacancy.

Longtime Buckeyes' defensive coordinator Luke Fickell is reportedly likely to be one of them, and it makes sense for the other to be defensive assistant Kerry Coombs, who has strong ties to the area.

Ohio State is currently preparing for its College Football Playoff game against Clemson, set to take place on New Year's Eve. It's likely that Cincinnati's vacancy will be filled before then, so it's possible the Buckeyes could lose an assistant - or have an assistant coaching that game on his way out of the program - before that contest.
