Report: Auburn Quarterback Woody Barrett Is Transferring

The Tigers' backup quarterback has decided to transfer out of the program.

Auburn is losing a four-star quarterback.

According to a report by 247Sports, Tigers' backup quarterback Woody Barrett has decided to transfer out of the program.

Barrett, a 6-foot-2, 225-pound dual-threat quarterback, has been sliding down Auburn's depth chart and his future within the program looked bleak.

He reportedly plans on transferring to a JUCO program.

From 247Sports:

The backup quarterback is planning to leave Auburn, a source familiar with the decision tells AuburnUndercover. An official announcement has not been made. Barrett slid down the depth chart in the spring and did not receive a single snap in the second half of the A-Day game.

Barrett is expected to transfer to a junior college for a semester before rejoining a Division I program, a source close to Barrett told AUC.

Barrett was the No. 6 dual-threat quarterback in the country coming out of high school in 2016. The Florida native chose the Tigers with offers from Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Oklahoma, among other programs.
