Report: ESPN College Football Analyst Lands Major New Gig

ESPN college football analyst Anthony "Booger" McFarland has reportedly landed a new job within the company. It's a big one.

Richard Deitsch of The Athletic is reporting that McFarland will be part of the network's Monday Night Football coverage. He will be working as a field analyst.

This is reportedly a new position for ESPN's Monday Night Football, which will feature several new faces in 2018.

"Sources tell (The Athletic) that (Booger McFarland) will be a field analyst on Monday Night Football — a new position for MNF. The official broadcasting team next fall: Joe Tessitore, Jason Witten, Booger McFarland and Lisa Salters," Deitsch tweeted.

McFarland, a former LSU Tigers star and first-round NFL Draft, has seen his stock rise a lot within the Worldwide Leader over the past couple of years.

The analyst has been featured on ESPN's new morning show, Get Up!, on a weekly basis since it came on the air. It's unclear what the MNF role will mean for his other gigs within the company.

ESPN has yet to officially announce the news. Stay tuned.
