If the Gators strike out on Chip Kelly, they could go hard after Scott Frost.

Chip Kelly is still target No. 1 for Florida, but the Gators' odds of landing the former Oregon head coach could be decreasing.

UCLA has come into the picture since firing head coach Jim Mora and there are some who believe Kelly could prefer to be back in the Pac-12, on the West Coast.

If Florida misses out on Kelly, expect the Gators to turn quickly to Scott Frost.

Bleacher Report's Lars Anderson says that he's heard Florida could make a "crazy" offer to the UCF head coach in the shape of $8 million/season.

That is a crazy-high number for a coach who's in his second season at UCF.

An $8 million/year offer would make Frost the country's third-highest paid head coach according to USA TODAY's salary database.

Anderson had previously reported that he'd heard Nebraska was "close" to a seven year, $35 million deal for Frost.
