FootballScoop’s Zach Barnett reports that the Gators have fired their head coach following a meeting with administration this morning.
Barnett reports that the head coach and the school “parted ways” this morning.

Florida (3-4) is struggling this season, having lost three in a row, but McElwain’s ousting likely has as much to do with what he said earlier this month. McElwain alleged that he had received death threats from angry fans and then refused to divulge more details when asked by administration.
The former Colorado State head coach 22-12 in two-plus seasons as Florida’s head coach, taking over the program in 2014.
Florida has yet to officially announce any news.
