Things could be about to get interesting.

Chip Kelly has been linked to the Florida job heavily throughout the last week, even if Florida tried to downplay the rumors.

According to a new report from Football Scoop, the Gators are "advancing discussions" with Kelly. While there are no further details at the moment, this report would make sense for one reason.

If Florida is serious about its interest in Kelly, UCLA's decision to fire Jim Mora this afternoon might have expedited their pursuit of him. UCLA is a fit for Kelly on paper and would likely be aggressive in trying to land him.

It would make sense for Florida to try and beat them to the punch. We'll see if they are able to do just that, or if this report is simply another false alarm regarding Kelly.
