Report: Iowa 4-Star Freshman Arrested Saturday Night

An Iowa football four-star freshman was reportedly arrested early Sunday morning.

Tristan Wirfs, a four-star offensive lineman out of Mount Vernon, Ia., was reportedly arrested on suspicion of DUI.

1630 KCJJ has the details:

An Iowa offensive lineman has been arrested for drunk driving.

Details have not yet been released in the arrest of Tristan Wirfs, 19. But Iowa City Police records show Wirfs was stopped in the 600 block of South Riverside Drive – just north of Benton Street – about 1:45 a.m. Sunday. He was then booked into the Johnson County Jail about two hours later on a charge of 1st Offense Operating While Under the Influence.

Wirfs, a 6-foot-4, 290-pound offensive lineman, was a top recruit coming out of high school.

He is expected to start at right tackle for the Hawkeyes in 2018.
