Report: Lane Kiffin Will Be USF's Main Target If Taggart Leaves

USF will reportedly have interest in Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin.

Lane Kiffin has been linked to multiple job openings - the Houston head coaching vacancy and the LSU offensive coordinator position.

An AAC program reportedly has interest in him, too.

USF head coach Willie Taggart is reportedly a serious candidate at Oregon. If he leaves, USF will reportedly pursue Kiffin.

From Sports Talk Florida:

South Florida head coach Willie Taggart is one of the hottest candidates for openings at Power 5 Conferences. He met in Dallas with the University of Oregon to fill their head coaching opening and his is considered as a real contender. If Taggart leaves Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin, will be the top target to be the Bulls head coach. Kiffin has plenty of Tampa ties, which will get to a bit later.

Houston would be a nice landing spot for Kiffin, but so would South Florida, which brings back a pretty good team in 2017. Kiffin's ties to the state of Florida - the Tampa Bay area, specifically - are decent, too. His dad, Monte Kiffin, was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' defensive coordinator for more than a decade.
