Lane Kiffin appears to be SEC-bound in 2020. Multiple reports suggest that Ole Miss is close to a deal with the FAU head coach.
A couple of SEC football programs are reported to have interest in Kiffin, who has strong ties to the conference, having coached at Tennessee and Alabama. There are multiple head coaching vacancies in the SEC, from Arkansas to Missouri to Ole Miss.
The Rebels are reportedly the leader in the Kiffin sweepstakes right now. In fact, Ole Miss is reportedly closing in on a deal.
“Multiple sources telling me tonight Lane Kiffin to Ole Miss is as close to a done deal without being official (as) possible,” Ole Miss insider Neal McCready tweeted.
Multiple sources telling me tonight Lane Kiffin to Ole Miss is as close to a done deal without being official as is possible. At this point, I expect an announcement Sunday.

Kiffin is set to coach FAU in the C-USA Championship Game on Saturday. The situation is reportedly still “fluid” but multiple reports suggest Kiffin-to-Ole Miss has a very strong chance of happening.
The feeling around the college football world tonight is that Ole Miss has outflanked Arkansas in the Lane Kiffin sweepstakes, such as it is. Obviously still a fluid situation and nothing gets done until after tomorrow’s games but Razorbacks may need to make contingency plans.

Kiffin has been at FAU since 2014. He’s led the Owls to a 9-3 season this fall. The school is reportedly attempting to keep Kiffin with a strong offer, though it’s tough to say no to the SEC.
FAU is set to play UAB on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. E.T.
If Kiffin is leaving for Ole Miss, it could happen as soon as Sunday.
