Penn State's football program lost to Michigan at home on Saturday afternoon.

Roughly 24 hours after the loss, the Nittany Lions have made a big change, firing a top assistant coach.

Penn State reportedly fired offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich after the loss to Michigan.

"Penn State has made a sudden change at offensive coordinator. Nittany Lions OC Mike Yurcich has been fired, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation. He will not coach the team the rest of the season," the Centre Daily reported.

"The change comes after the team scored only 15 points against Michigan Saturday afternoon and struggled to find explosive plays all season. The loss effectively eliminated the program from College Football Playoff contention, meaning they will have gone the entire four-team playoff era without earning an opportunity to win a national title."

ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum ripped James Franklin following the latest loss.

“By the way, it doesn’t look great but Michigan didn’t have to do anything for one reason. James Franklin is one of the most unimaginative big game coaches in the history of the game. I don’t know what he was trying to do but it didn’t look like he was trying to win the game, and that’s what you’re supposed to do. His record in these big games against Ohio State and Michigan is abysmal and I think that’s one reason why Michigan played it close to the vest and won fairly easily," Finebaum said.

Penn State fell to 8-2 on the year with the loss.
