Two Orange football players have been arrested.
Syracuse redshirt freshmen football players Jaquwan Nelson and Devon Clarke were arrested for stealing two pairs of “Yeezy” boots, a laptop computer and a PlayStation 4, according to a report by Syracuse.com.
Nelson, a 19-year-old defensive end, was charged Thursday with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny. Clarke, a 19-year-old safety, was charged with second-degree burglary and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
The arrests were made following a burglary investigation into an incident reported on Dec. 26, 2016.
During the investigation, an SPD detective determined that Nelson and Clarke were responsible for entering a South Campus residence at 241 Winding Ridge Road and for stealing the property. The “Yeezy” boots retail for several hundred dollars.
Syracuse opens its 2017 season on Saturday, Sept. 2 against Central Connecticut State.
