Rice Wrote A Letter To A Recruit's Cat, Three-Star QB Commits To The Owls

Perhaps we haven't seen everything when it comes to the creative things college football programs will do to persuade recruits to play for them. Rice was recruiting J.T. Granato, a three-star quarterback out of The Kinkaid School in Houston, Texas. The quarterback recently committed to play for the Owls, but only after Rice co-offensive coordinator Billy Lynch wrote to Granato’s cat.

From the letter:

“As you know we’re trying to convince J.T. Rice is the place for him. I knew you’d like to keep him close so he can feed you and change the litter box. Please help us to get him to choose us. Paw me if you have any questions.”

The letter worked. Granato committed to play at Rice on Thursday.
