Penn State vs. USC preview:

Two of the hottest teams in college football are ready to do battle in the Rose Bowl.

USC finished the season on an eight-game winning streak, and just barely missed out on a chance to win the Pac-12. As it stands, USC leapfrogged Colorado in the final College Football Playoff rankings for a spot in the Rose Bowl.

Penn State enters this contest on a nine-game winning streak and is coming off of a huge comeback win over Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship Game. Down 28-7 in the first half, the Nittany Lions battled back to win the Big Ten Title by a score of 38-31. After narrowly missing out on a spot in the College Football Playoff, Penn State's consolation prize was a spot in the Rose Bowl against a hot USC team.

The Trojans and Nittany Lions have played nine times in history, with the Trojans holding a slight 5-4 edge.

Penn State vs. USC prediction:

Penn State has been doubted all season long, and now the Nittany Lions are in position to win the Grandaddy of Them All. Both of these teams are incredibly deserving after their stretch-runs, but only one team can walk away with a win.

USC is the more complete team and has all of the talent in the world. The Trojans win this one in a close, hard-fought matchup.
