Ryan Day Had 6-Word Message For Everyone After Playoff Game Win

Things have not been easy for Ryan Day as of late.

The Ohio State Buckeyes head coach, who has gone 67–10 leading the program since taking over for Urban Meyer, has been on the hot seat since losing to Michigan on Saturday, Nov. 30. That was Ohio State's fourth straight loss to Michigan. Day's predecessor, Urban Meyer, went 7-0 against That Team Up North. Day has been unable to carry the torch in the rivalry game, leading to many fans calling for his firing.

Saturday night, Ohio State was able to turn the page, hosting No. 9 seed Tennessee at Ohio Stadium in Columbus. The Buckeyes made easy work of their first round College Football Playoff opponent, taking down Josh Heupel's squad, 42-17, at The Horseshoe.

Ohio State will now move on to the Rose Bowl, where a battle with No. 1 seed Oregon awaits. The Buckeyes lost to the Ducks, 32-31, in one of the games of the season in the Big Ten Conference.

Day knows that his team's work is far from done. He had a six-word message for everyone after Saturday night's first round College Football Playoff victory.

Day had a simple message for everyone following his team's big win on Saturday night.

"We we gotta win three more," he told reporters at Ohio Stadium following the win.

Ohio State will have to get by Oregon first. The Buckeyes fell to the Ducks by one point on the road back in October. Oregon won the Big Ten Conference in its first season in the league, taking down Penn State in the conference championship game. But many felt that Oregon and Ohio State were the Big Ten's two best teams this season - and perhaps the two best teams in the country.

Ohio State will actually head into the quarterfinals matchup against Oregon as a favorite. The Buckeyes are favored by about two points against the Ducks as of Sunday morning.

It should be a fun one in Pasadena, California.

Kickoff between Ohio State and Oregon is scheduled for 5 p.m. E.T. on New Year's Day. The game will air on ESPN.
