Ryan Day Lands Surprising Job Offer After Loss To Michigan
ESPN college football analyst Paul Finebaum believes Ryan Day should leave Ohio State before it's too late.
"I think he's got a real problem," Finebaum said. "I don't like the path ahead...I think he's a very good coach. But you can't lose that game. That speaks for itself.
"I'd get out of there, while you can."
An opportunity to leave Ohio State has arisen for Day - albeit, it's probably not one he's likely to seize.
A minor league baseball team has offered Day its third base coach job.
"The Kalamazoo Growlers have formally extended an offer to Ohio State Football Coach Ryan Day for their 3rd base coaching position," the team announced.
"The position would begin in the middle of May, prior to the Growlers 11th season at Homer Stryker Field. The position would involve coaching 3rd base, surveillance and scouting."
The team, of course, it noting Jim Harbaugh's infamous "born on third base" slight of Day.
“We think Ryan was born for the position.” said Growlers Owner, Brian Colopy, “We will do whatever it takes to get Ryan to Kalamazoo.”
Day is 56-7 as Ohio State's head coach, but he's been unable to get it done in the games that matter most.
