Ryan Day's Statement Probably Means Ohio State Won't Be Announcing Urban Meyer's Fate Today

Friday, Ohio State acting head coach Ryan Day issued a lengthy statement on Twitter, which was meant to provide updates on the program - and specifically how practice has been going for the players. Ohio State has not given the media much access since the scandal broke two weeks back.

Ohio State also announced that the media will be able to cover practice tomorrow - the final practice of fall camp.

Many believe that the fact that Ohio State is allowing the media to cover practice on Saturday morning means that no big news is going to be dropped Friday night.

So in short, Ohio State fans probably shouldn't expect a decision on Urban Meyer coming in the next 12 hours. It wouldn't make a ton of sense.

Meyer is currently on paid administrative leave while the school looks into how he handled 2015 domestic violence allegations against his former wide receivers coach Zach Smith. He issued a statement two weeks ago, but has been silent since.

As for the actual timeline on a decision - Sunday will be two weeks since Ohio State formed the committee to decide Meyer's fate. We should know sooner rather than later.
