Sam Bruce is out at Miami.
Sam Bruce, a four-star freshman wide receiver, has been dismissed by Miami's football program due to multiple violations of team rules.
The Hurricanes say Bruce failed to meet "the clear expectations established to be a part of the Miami football program."
The 5-foot-8, 180-pound prospect out of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. was suspended for the Hurricanes' first three games of the season due to a violation of team rules. It was believed that the suspension had something to do with an incident dating back to high school in which Bruce took a photo with a gun.
Bruce was ranked the No. 11 WR and No. 82 player in the 2016 class by 247Sports' Composite Rankings. He was also highly recruited by Florida, Florida State and Ohio State.
Miami is 4-1 (1-1 in the ACC). The Hurricanes lost to Florida State on Saturday night, 20-19, in heartbreaking fashion.
Mark Richt's team is set to play UNC on Saturday.
