Sam Darnold Is Your 2017 Heisman Trophy Frontrunner

Who's going to win the 2017 Heisman Trophy?

USC just won one of the most-thrilling Rose Bowl games we've ever seen, knocking off Penn State, 52-49, on a last-second field goal.

The best part of the game? Watching the Trojans' quarterback, Sam Darnold.

The freshman threw for 453 yards and five touchdowns in the win, leading a game-tying and a game-winning drive in the final two minutes.

"Just truly special," Clay Helton said of his quarterback's performance.

USC will likely enter the 2017 season ranked somewhere in the top five and Darnold could enter the season as the Heisman Trophy favorite.

If he makes throws like this in 2017, it'll be hard to give the award to anyone else.

Darnold, a dual-threat quarterback originally from San Clemente, Calif., was a four-star recruit in the 2015 class. He chose USC over Duke and Oregon, among other programs.

We can't wait to see how much he improves next season.
