Sav'ell Smalls, Country's No. 1 OLB, Names Top 6 Schools

Burien (Wash.) Kennedy Catholic five-star linebacker Sav'ell Smalls took a major step forward in his recruitment today, naming his top six schools.

Smalls is down to Alabama, Florida State, Oregon, Tennessee, Washington and Washington State. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound linebacker holds over 30 scholarship offers.

"One step closer to the finish line," Smalls wrote on Twitter this afternoon.

Smalls is the No. 1 player in the state of Washington and the top-rated outside linebacker in the country, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

He is the No. 9 overall recruit int he 2019 class as well.

247Sports compares Smalls with former UCLA star and NFL first-round pick Takk McKinley, who plays for the Atlanta Falcons.

"Projects as immediate Power 5 starter and projects as first-round NFL draft choice," their assessment of him reads.
