Syracuse vs. Pitt preview:

After getting blown out by Florida State last weekend, Syracuse sits at 4-7 on the season and won't make a bowl game unless extraordinary circumstances arrive. The Orange had one win against a top-20 program, but couldn't make it two on the season as it got torched by the Seminoles 45-14.

One team got torched and the other did the torching. Last weekend the Panthers continued their momentum off of a huge win over Clemson two week's ago. Pitt dominated Duke by a score of 56-14 and the defense only allowed 25 yards rushing to the Blue Devils for an average of 1.1 yards per rush. Back-to-back wins for the Panthers have them at 7-4 on the season and in good standing for a solid bowl game.

The Panthers and Orange have played 70 times in history, with the Panthers holding a 37-30-3 advantage.

Syracuse vs. Pitt prediction:

Pitt is by far the better team, yet neither the Panthers or the Orange have played consistently this season. Both have found very impressive wins, and both have not-so-impressive losses on their schedules.

This one comes down to which Pitt team shows up. The one that defeated Clemson and demolished Duke, or the one that got crushed by Miami.

Pitt's balanced offense should lead the way in this one, but expect Syracuse to keep it close.
