This week is already off to an outstanding start for one particular SEC powerhouse. Four-star offensive tackle Tate Ratledge has announced his commitment for the 2020 season.
Ratledge is the No. 39 overall recruit in his class and the No. 5 offensive tackle, per 247Sports. Most programs from the SEC were on his final list, which included LSU, Mississippi State and Florida.
Instead of choosing any of those three schools, Ratledge gave his commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs. This will allow him to play for a contender while also staying close to home.
Georgia has the No. 5 recruiting class for 2020, despite only having nine commits in that group. Every other program in the top five has a minimum of 14 commits.
The addition of Ratledge allowed Georgia to leapfrog Florida State in 247Sports’ recruiting rankings.
Ratledge revealed his college decision on Twitter, saying “COMMITTED #GODAWGS.”

Two of the top recruits for Georgia are offensive linemen, as Ratledge and Broderick Jones should make a formidable duo.
Out of all the commits heading to the Bulldogs for the 2020 season, the top prospect is five-star outside linebacker Mekhail Sherman.
Georgia enters this upcoming season with the No. 2 recruiting class, and now, it will stake a claim to another top recruiting class in the future.
