This game features two of the best rushing attacks in college football.
At one point Georgia Tech was 5-4 on the season and had just been blown out by North Carolina. With three games remaining, the real question was, "can Georgia Tech make it to a bowl game?" Well, they did one better. The Yellow Jackets won their last three games, including one over No. 14 Virginia Tech and another over in-state rival, Georgia.
Talk about a team closing its season with a statement win. Kentucky shocked the country when the Wildcats took down Lamar Jackson and his Louisville Cardinals on a last-second field goal. The Wildcats bounced back after slow 0-2 start to finished the season seven wins despite playing in the SEC.
The Wildcats and Yellow Jackets have played 19 times in history, with the Yellow Jackets holding an 11-7-1 advantage. The last game played between these two teams was back in 1960.
Kentucky vs. Georgia Tech prediction:
There will be rushing yards aplenty in this contest as both teams rely heavily on their run game for success. The winner of this one will depend on who can stop the run, which Georgia Tech does a much better job of than Kentucky.
The Yellow Jackets will get the win in a close game.
