Man Arrested For Allegedly Stabbing Appalachian State Football's Teh’Ron Fuller

Teh'Ron Fuller, a redshirt sophomore linebacker at Appalachian State, is recovering after being stabbed outside of a bar early Thursday morning.

Fuller is reportedly in good condition at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, where he was taken after the incident, which reportedly occurred at around 2:30 a.m. ET.

From the Winston-Salem Journal:

According to the news release, officers responded shortly before 2:30 a.m. Thursday to a report of a fight involving several people at 219 Crossing Way, about a mile south of the Appalachian State campus. Shortly after arriving at the scene, officers were notified by Watauga Medical Center that Fuller, 21, had been brought to the emergency department suffering from a stab wound.

“It appears this incident started as an altercation outside a local bar,” police said in the release. “Later a fight involving multiple parties occurred in the parking lot of 219 Crossing Way.”

WSOCTV.com reports that a man named Malik Simpson was arrested on Friday and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, in connection to the attack.

Appalachian State head coach Scott Satterfield released a statement after news broke on Thursday.

“Our thoughts are with Teh’Ron and his family,” App State football coach Scott Satterfield said in a school-issued statement. “We are thankful for all the medical and support staff that are making sure he is being cared for. Our program and athletic department will continue to support Teh’Ron and his family any way we can during this difficult time.”

We'll update as more comes out. Hopefully Fuller is able to make a full recovery from his injuries.
