Tennessee vs. Tennessee Tech preview:
The Vols opened the season with five straight wins and made it all the way up to No. 9 in the country. Then Texas A&M happened. The Aggies defeated the Volunteers by just a touchdown, but Tennessee has not been able to regain its form since that loss. The Volunteers followed up their first defeat of the season with an embarrassing 49-10 loss to No. 1 Alabama. Just when Tennessee thought things couldn't get any worse, the Volunteers dropped a close 24-21 game to lowly South Carolina.
Tennessee Tech is an FCS team, and not a great one at that. The Golden Eagles sit at 3-5 on the season, and get set for their toughest game of the season.
The Volunteers and Golden Eagles have not played each other in 65 years.
Tennessee vs. Tennessee Tech prediction:
This is just what the Volunteers need to get back on track with a win. After dropping three straight games, and hearing about the departure of running back Jalen Hurd, the Volunteers need some good news. A win to move them into a bowl berth is just what the doctor ordered.
The Vols have too much talent to drop a game to an FCS opponent.
