Quinn Ewers Gets Honest About His Time At Ohio State

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers will have the chance to face off against his former team this Friday in the Cotton Bowl.

Ewers started his collegiate career with Ohio State before transferring to Texas after his freshman season. He has started at Texas for the last three seasons and has led the program to the College Football Playoff semifinals in back-to-back years.

He's completing 66.5% of his passes for 3,189 yards through the air with 29 touchdowns and 11 interceptions this season.

Ewers spoke about his time with OSU and head coach Ryan Day this week and had nothing but good things to say.

“I learned a lot while I was there under Coach Day and then C.J. (Stroud), and just that whole room was awesome to be around, and super thankful for that time that I got to spend there. And, like I said, I learned a whole lot. So I don’t regret any decision I made on going or anything like that," Ewers said via Eleven Warriors, (first transcribed by On3).

"But the main reason I went was, I felt like I had a great relationship with the coaching staff, and, you know, they were winning a lot of games, and I wanted to go be a part of something like that."

Ewers is from Southlake, Texas so transferring to the University of Texas was basically like coming home for him. It's worked out well thus far and he has the program within two wins of a national title.

Texas beat Clemson and Arizona State in the earlier rounds of the CFP to get to this point while OSU blew out both Tennessee and top-seeded Oregon.

The Buckeyes are currently a 5.5-point favorite heading into Friday's Cotton Bowl but that line may change over the next couple of days.

Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
