The father of a Texas football player reportedly suffered from cardiac arrest in the stands ahead of the team's game against West Virginia.
Texas currently trails West Virginia at halftime, 17-13, but there's a much more serious situation going on in Austin. According to multiple reports, the father of a Longhorns player suffered from cardiac arrest just before the kickoff of the contest. The fan was reportedly in "life-threatening" condition and had no pulse for 20-30 minutes. The school has not released the name of the fan nor the name of his son.
It's unclear why the school has not yet released the name of the fan.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Texas football family. Let's hope it all turns out okay.
Update: The player whose father suffered from cardiac arrest is linebacker Tim Cole.
According to the Austin American-Statesman, Cole was informed of the situation before the game.
