Here are the 10 best brands.

The 2017 college football season and National Signing Day are behind us. Although most of the talk was about a "down" SEC this year, Alabama walked away with a national title, and Georgia landed the No. 1 recruiting class in the country.

Ohio State finished not far behind, while Texas, USC, and Penn State rounded out the top five. Between the top five, 19 5-star recruits were among the star classes.

While all of that was going on, Pick Six Previews put together an interesting look at how recruits perceive different colleges. They interviewed 224 recruits in order to find out which school has the best overall brand.

The recruits were asked to approach their recruitment process as if they were the No. 1 recruit in the country. As such, they basically have their pick of a program.

The two main factors in the experiment are recruiting and revenue. As it turns out, recruiting might not be as important as we though.

The results are interesting, especially as Alabama is concerned. Here are the top 10 programs.

  1. Clemson
  2. Ohio State
  3. Penn State
  4. Georgia
  5. Oregon (tie)
  6. USC (tie)
  7. Miami
  8. Oklahoma
  9. Stanford
  10. LSU

Notre Dame (No. 15), Alabama (No. 19), Texas (No. 20) all missed out on the top 10. A few other interesting teams to note are Michigan State, at No. 11, and Louisville, at No. 22, ahead of Washington, Texas A&M, and Tennessee.
