You know what college football fans love to do more than root for their own team? Hate on another college football team.

Ohio State fans probably enjoy seeing Michigan fail more than they enjoy watching the Buckeyes succeed. The same can be said about a bunch of other rivalries across the country.

What college football teams are the most-universally hated, though? Here's our crack at that list in 2018...

The 10 Most-Hated College Football Programs In 2018

10. Clemson

Dabo Swinney is a lot of fun and the Tigers have had some really easy players to root for (who doesn't love Deshaun Watson?) but Clemson has had too much elite success to not be on this list.

9. Oregon

Oregon, with its crazy uniforms, is always going to be on "most-hated" lists because of how the "traditional" college football fan views the sport. They don't want a program like Oregon having serious success.

8. Penn State

Penn State’s inclusion here is no mystery. The Sandusky scandal rocked the Nittany Lion fan base, and while the program has bounced back in a big way as of late, winning the Big Ten and making multiple big bowls, there hasn’t been a huge shift in the way the program is viewed by the casual fan.

7. Texas A&M

The Aggies paid an insane amount of money to land Jimbo Fisher. The program's fans probably think the team's ceiling is higher than it is. They have an assistant coach feuding with the entire Big 12 conference. This is a hated program on the rise.

6. Texas

Tom Herman has said some stuff that's led to criticism and the Longhorns haven't been very good in a while. This will always be a program that people like rooting against.

5. Florida State

It'll be interesting to see what Florida State's program is like under Willie Taggart. Under Jimbo Fisher, they were crazy hated, mostly because of the fan base. #FSUTwitter hasn't been as much of a thing lately - there haven't been any big controversies - but it's always there, lurking.

4. Michigan

The Wolverines are a huge program with a huge following, but they're in the top five of this list for one reason - one man, actually - Jim Harbaugh. He's probably the most-hated coach in the country. People are starting to grow tired of his acts, too, with the elite W-L results not being there yet.

3. Ohio State

Ohio State is arguably the biggest college football program in the country. Its fan base is massive, it's the only major program in the state, it's been crazy successful under Urban Meyer...the Buckeyes could be No. 1, to be honest.

2. Notre Dame

The Fighting Irish were No. 1 on our list last year. Everyone loves watching the Fighting Irish lose. People revel in their bad news. For example, our story on Notre Dame football's recent vacating of wins was one of our most-read stories of the year and shared on social media nearly 4,000 times.

1. Alabama

The Crimson Tide have just been on top of the sport too long to place any other team at No. 1. Alabama, coming off its national title win, is as strong as ever. People are surely growing tired of this Nick Saban dynasty. It might not be ending anytime soon, though.
